Cheers to a New Spot: RiverTrail Beerworks Opens in Saranac Lake
RiverTrail Beerworks in Saranac Lake, co-owned by Chris and Catherine Ericson, celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The new brewery, located alongside the nearly-finished Saranac Lake River Walk, features 16 brews on tap, including 12 house beers crafted by Head Brewer Jason Barnett.
This is Chris and Catherine's third brewery location, after Lake Placid Pub and Brewery and Big Slide Brewery and Public House, perennial favorites in Lake Placid.
Head Brewer Jason Barnett came from Fifth Frame Brewing in Rochester, where he won a Great American Beer Festival gold medal. This is an exciting challenge for Barnett, who recently created his first hoppy pale ale with the new brewing equipment, fittingly named "Trailhead."
The spacious brewery offers a modern design with solar panels, ample parking, and golf simulators. In addition to their beers, customers can also enjoy a farm-to-table food menu featuring shareables, soups/salads, handhelds, entrees, and delicious Detroit-style pizzas.
With a focus on local pride and community, RiverTrail aims to contribute to Saranac Lake's vibrant culture. They are open daily, from 11:30 AM - 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 AM - 10 PM Friday and Saturday. The bar is open until 11 PM nightly.
