The East Branch of the Ausable River is a great fishing spot in the Adirondacks from

 The East Branch of the Ausable River forms on the south side of the Great Range. The East Branch holds brown and rainbow trout in the higher gradient stretches of river. The river is very wide and wadable.

There are plenty of access spots with public fishing rights scattered from Keene Valley to Ausable Forks.
