Set among balsam firs, spruce, and cedar trees, Covewood Lodge offers rustic charm and modern comforts in the heart of the Adirondacks. Located on the serene shores of Big Moose Lake, this Great Camp–style retreat has been owned and operated by the Bowes family since 1951, welcoming families to enjoy this beautiful region.
Covewood is open from May through October and provides accommodations for up to 100 guests. Many families have been visiting for generations, forming lifelong connections with the lodge, its owners, and fellow guests.
Stay in Rustic Comfort
Cottages
Covewood's 19 housekeeping cottages come in a variety of sizes, each equipped with fully stocked kitchens featuring microwaves, toasters, and coffee makers. Firewood is supplied, and all cottages are heated for cool Adirondack evenings. Guests are asked to bring their own sheets, towels, pillowcases, and dish towels.
Main Lodge
The historic Main Lodge offers three apartments and four stand-alone rooms:
- Apartments include fully equipped kitchens with microwaves, toasters, and coffee makers. Guests supply their own linens and towels.
- Stand-Alone Rooms feature small refrigerators, coffee makers, linens, and daily housekeeping service.
Family Adventures and Memorable Activities
Covewood provides a welcoming, family-focused experience, with supervised children's activities running from late June to Labor Day. Weekly campfires bring all guests together, while bi-weekly events include kids' cookouts and wine-and-cheese nights for adults.
