Overview

The Lake George Wild Forest is bordered by Lake George itself, and has over 45 ponds and lakes.

 The Lake George Wild Forest surround the lake itself, is a great area for anglers with 47 ponds and lakes. Many of these waters will hold brook trout. Other common species are rainbow trout, brown trout, and largemouth bass

Two very popular ponds are Fishbrook Pond and Bumps Pond, east of Lake George. Jabe Pond is the most heavily fished water because of the four-mile jeep trail creating easy access for anglers. Jabe pond is also the location where rainbow and brook trout are stocked annually. Most waters are only accessible with a several mile hike inside the forest area. 

You can also find eight lean-tos in the surrounding area.
