Pitchoff Mountain tops out at 3,600' and is the 80th-highest peak in the Adirondack Park. It is situated in the Sentinel Range adjacent to Cascade Pass and the Cascade Lakes.
The West Trail is the more popular of the two routes and allows you to access the highest point of the mountain more quickly. The West Trailhead is located 2.6 miles up route 73 from the East Trailhead.
This hike is challenging and is not recommended for families or inexperienced hikers. On average, it takes about 5-7 hours for an advanced hiker to complete.
