The Salmon River holds a great population of trout and runs to the west of the Trout River.
The Salmon River is easily accessed and flows gentle, creating a great waterway for family outings. Anglers can find brown trout, rainbow trout, and brook trout. The most common is brown trout, found in the Upper Salmon from Chasm Falls to Malone.
Both sections of the river can be accessed from adjacent roads and bridges. The Upper Section has less public fishing locations, permission should always be asked even if the area is not posted.
