The summer sunshine and lack of rainfall has resulted in unusual high temperatures and wildfire warnings; in the Adirondacks and across much of the Country. Many towns in the Adirondacks have experienced temperature well into the 90’s with little rainfall and high humidity. In just the month of June, over 1,000 records were broken across the Country that far surpassed previous high temperatures.<\/p>\n
I often wonder if any town in the Adirondacks has broken a historical record for surpassing a previous high temperature.
\nLiving in a world where 3% of the Earth is covered in freshwater, the Adirondacks with its 30,000 miles of rivers and streams, and over 2,000 lakes and ponds has an abundant amount of water when compared to the landscape outside the Park. Perhaps, this is one variable that has aided many within the Park when much of the Country has seen drought, loss of crops and severe forest fires.<\/p>\n
