Are you looking for an outdoor adventure while giving back to the community? Join Champlain Area Trails for a Working Hike on the lovely loop trail at Penfield Pond. We are teaming up with some student volunteers from Crown Point Central School, so it is a great opportunity to build trails and community! The trail is 1.7 miles long and borders the beautiful Penfield Pond. Enjoy the start of spring with us while doing trail work!

During this working hike, we will engage in trail maintenance activities such as lopping and cleaning up the trail, making it safer and more enjoyable for all hikers. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and contribute to the preservation of this fantastic community trail.

WHAT TO BRING:

Tools: Champlain Area Trails will provide loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, but feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer.

Safety Gear: Bring gloves and protective eyewear (if using a string trimmer).

Hydration: Don’t forget to bring water!

Snacks: Pack some snacks for energy during the hike.

Clothing: Dress in clothing that can get muddy and is water-repellant.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Find this trailhead on Peasley Rd., about 0.2 mi east of the Penfield Museum. Park on the right before the bridge, cross the bridge, take an immediate right onto the trail.  Click here for Google Maps directions.
