  • Class Size Maximum: 15

  • RAIN DATE: If the weather forecast is unfavorable by noon on October 18, we will move the class to Sunday, October 20. You will be notified by email on October 18 if the class is moved.

  • Additional Information: Part of the class will be held outside behind Tannery Pond Center. Please wear appropriate clothing for the day.

The class will cover the following topics:

  • A Guide to plants that you can forage and the history of those plants.

  • Wilderness survival identification of seasonal foods, and preparation and tasting of foods that will sustain you in the wild.

  • Learning about and using different kinds of lightweight items to create a seasonal foolproof system and utilizing nature to survive in the wild.

  • Learning a basic fire method or two, time permitting, to help keep you warm and boil water and food.
