Details on the many varied competitions at the I Love BBQ Festival in Lake Placid NY and instructions on how to enter.
Fabulous Taste-O-Rama
July 3rd 4:00 - 5:45 PM
Each team will be able to sell to general public 10 sampler plates at $16/plate.
Plate will consist of 4 oz NY strip, 4 oz chicken, 4 oz sausage and side potato dish (can be potato salad (must be made on site), french fries, cut fries, baked potato, other potato dishes). Public will use score card to judge each team food. Team with highest score wins and will be announced during award ceremonies, which will be together with the Midnight Grilling Bash at 10:30 pm.
1st Place: $500 and trophy
2nd Place: $300
3rd: $200
4th - 10th: $50
Midnight Grilling Bash
July 3rd 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Participants will compete in two categories: chicken and NY strip steak. No other meats or seafood are allowed, even in the sauce. The total combined score of chicken and steak will produce the winner, announced in an awards ceremony at 10:30 pm.
1st Place: $500, trophy and medal
2nd Place: $300 and medal
3rd Place: $200 and medal
4th-6th Place: $50 and medal
Additional prizes will also be awarded
I Love Barbecue Junior World Championships
July 4th 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Participants between the ages of 16 - 21 will compete in four categories: pork ribs, chicken, New York strip steak and dessert. Competition limited to 24 teams. The winner will be announced in an awards ceremony together with the $Buck-A-Rib awards at 5:45 pm.
1st Place: $1,000 in cash and prizes
2nd Place: $500 in cash and prizes
3rd Place: $500 in cash and prizes
$Buck - A - Rib / People's Choice Award
July 4th 1:00 - 3:30 PM
General public will taste ribs prepared by the teams. For $1 you will be able to purchase a single rib and later select the winning team. Try as many ribs as you like and then cast your vote.
1st Place: Two (2) airline tickets on Southwest Airlines to anywhere in the continental U.S.
2nd Place: $200 and prize
3rd: $150 and prize
4th - 10th: $50
KCBS Grand Championship
July 5th 11:45 - 1:30 PM
This is the main event of the I Love Barbecue Festival in Lake Placid and is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. The winner receives prize money and title of ILBBQF Grand Champion at an awards ceremony at 3:45 pm.

Best Cooking Demonstration Throughout The Weekend
As in the past there will be 45-minute, live cooking demonstrations held throughout the I Love BBQ Festival. Each dish must include 3 major components meat/fish, veggie and fruit. At the end of each demonstration, participants present their dishes to the general public for tasting and score-card voting. The festival will give awards for the top rated demonstrations at the awards ceremony on July 5th between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.
1st Place: $500, trophy and prizes

3rd Place: $200 and prizes
