Minerva can be called a nature-lover's paradise, with more than half of the town having been labeled state land. Since most of the town is covered with trees, it comes as no surprise that maple syrup tours are a favorite for visitors to Minerva.

Minerva is part of Irishtown NY (along with Irishtown, Leonardsville, and Olmstedville), and includes sections of the Hudson and Boreas Rivers, as well as Minerva Lake. Most visitors make use of Minerva Lake and the campsites around it.
