A Charming Town On The Adirondack Scenic Railroad: Remsen, NY

North of Utica in Oneida County is a quaint little town called Remsen. It was discovered in 1792 and named after one of the first settlers, Henry Remsen.

There is no shortage of water in the Remsen area, which makes it a great destination if you’re interested in kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting or swimming. Remsen is close to many other area attractions to enjoy during your visit. Take a ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad or spend the day enjoying one of the area's amusement parks or golf courses. Hit the trails for some mountain biking or hiking. During the winter months there are great places for snowmobiling, skiing, skating, ice fishing and much more!
