New Brewery Opening: RiverTrail Beerworks in Saranac Lake

RiverTrail Beer Works, co-owned by Chris and Catherine Ericson, is celebrating its grand opening in Saranac Lake. The new brewery, located alongside the Saranac River and River Walk, features 16 brews on tap, including 12 house beers crafted by Head Brewer Jason Barnett.

This is Ericson's third location, after Lake Placid Pub and Brewery and Big Slide Brewery and Public House, perennial favorites in Lake Placid. Head Brewer Jason Barnett came from Fifth Frame Brewing in Rochester, where he won Great American Festival Gold last year. This is an exciting new challenge, and he recently came out with his first hoppy pale ale, fittingly named "Trailhead."

The spacious brewery offers a modern design with solar panels, ample parking, and golf simulators. With a focus on local pride and community, RiverTrail aims to contribute to Saranac Lake's vibrant culture—open daily, from 11:30 AM- 10 PM, 11 PM Friday and Saturday. Stop in for a pint today!

A new exhibit is open at Fort Ticonderoga through October 27, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution: A Revolutionary Anthology.

Visitors can expect to see over 100 rare artifacts from the newly acquired Robert Nittolo Collection, on display to the public for the first time ever!

The artifacts encompass rare arms from the battlefield of the Revolution, artwork, and equipment and uniforms that belonged to the soldiers.

This exhibit is part of a multi-year exhibition program that will "provide visitors with new methods to understand the people and events of the American Revolution," as Fort Ti President/CEO Beth Hill said in a statement on their site.
