Winter Activities to Enjoy

One of the benefits of staying at Moreno's Cottages' deluxe cabin is that you'll be about halfway between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid and everything those communities have to offer. Make plans for skiing at the Mt Pisgah Ski Area, go ice skating in Lake Placid, attend a fun winter event, or spend the day at the nearby Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington.

Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center (Northville)

Winter Activities to Enjoy

Snowsports enthusiasts will not need to wander far, because Lapland Lake has an on-site, award-winning cross-country ski center. There are 50km of scenic ski and snowshoe trails in addition to snow tubing for kids, ice skating, night skiing, and a wood-burning sauna. For guests, use of the trails is free; you will need to pay for rentals if you don't have your own.

Prospect Point Cottages (Blue Mountain Lake)

Come read a thick novel and sip hot chocolate by the fire at the charming Prospect Point Cottages. All cottages have large picture windows and porches overlooking Blue Mountain Lake.

Winter Activities to Enjoy

Prospect Point provides snowshoes for guests at no charge. They're also about 10 minutes from the Indian Lake Village ski slope and skating rink (you do need to bring your own skis or skates). And, they're about 30 minutes from Gore Mountain.

Donnelly's Sunset Point (The House) (Long Lake)

Donnelly's Sunset Point cabins are seasonal, but the house, which sleeps 8, is year-round. The house offers a covered porch, a covered deck overlooking the lake, and you can take advantage of off season rates.

Winter Activities to Enjoy

As mentioned with the first cozy lodging option on this list, the Long Lake region includes the Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area for ice skating and sledding, the Northville Lake-Placid Trail for experienced hikers, and the Long Lake Snowmobile Trail for snowmobilers.
